Cardiff & UWIC Hockey Club have teams at Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13 with an Under 15 team being developed for the near future.

After 24 years in the care of Andy Griffiths, Cardiff and UWIC HC Youth team, formerly Cardiff HC has an illustrious past, filled with leagues, cups and star players.

This glorious past has helped the club produce some first class talent. This includes current Wales international Owain Dolan-Gray and former Welsh international Rhys Jones and bother Owen. Jaime Smith, Brett Morgan, Steve Way, Steve Ellis, Ravi Kaler, Graham Hawkins, John Richards, Craig Atter, Owen Davies, Matt Grey have all played for the club’s first team in their time as has the current club Chairman Mark Shelton has played and scored for every team in the club.

Other notable names still at the club include former European Challenge Cup winner and 4th XI captain Morgan Miles, club starlet Aron Waite and his brother Daniel, high flying Dale and brother Tom Hutchinson, club maverick James Campbell and current 7th XI and current youth star Joleon Morgan. Jon Chadwick being the most notable player to come through the now extinct partnership with Rumney, still littering the club with goals.

The most notable successes of the club in recent times include the 2004 Under 15 Cup, 2005 Under 11 Cup and the 2007 Under 13 Cup. The club currently boasts a 100% record in all age groups as it enters the indoor season.

Membership is £27 per season, best value in the area. Training is held on Thursdays at the National Hockey Centre at Sophia Gardens from 5pm until 6.30.
